Security Policies

The security of the user personal information is of utmost importance to HSTPL. On the MRIGS Portal, your data and personal information is secured with the best-in-class security standards

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, MRIGS portal has put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the personal information that the MRIGS Portal collects about the user online. Following are some of the security mechanisms being followed to safeguard your data:

Login IDs and strong Passwords

Only the User has the ability to access his MRIGS Portal account through the Login ID and Password that the user has created during registration. MRIGS Portal requires strong passwords that include a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numeric, and non-alphanumeric characters. Many web sites do not compulsorily require strong passwords, but MRIGS Portal believes that this additional security is important in safeguarding your personal and financial information. Please keep the Login ID and password information securely and do not share it with anyone.

Potent data encryption

For the MRIGS Portal, we use Secure Sockets Layer ('SSL') technology to encrypt information exchange. Unlike normal Internet communication, information provided to us on the MRIGS Portal is sent in a "secure session" established with SSL. SSL is a security protocol that provides data encryption, server authentication, and message integrity for a connection to the Internet. Using SSL ensures that the information you exchange with MRIGS Portal is never transmitted over the Internet unencrypted and therefore cannot be viewed by unauthorized individuals. This encryption is done using 128-bit encryption, the maximum level of encryption possible on the Internet comparable to security levels used by financial institutions. In the interest of security, it is suggested that you end your browser session before leaving your computer

Safe data storage and Access control

The user data resides safely in the MRIGS Portal database and is protected by a firewall. The firewall is configured to receive and process requests only from authorized personnel. Further, some of the highly critical information such as the user password, bank details, etc are stored in the database in a encrypted format, thereby preventing any misuse of data. We take regular back-ups of the user data so that appropriate recovery measures can be initiated of the latest information if there are any data loss problems. We take security seriously and it is important to us that you understand and are comfortable with our security standards'
